On the evening of Friday, October 28, 2016, Father Noel Gorgis drove up with Shamasha Salwan from San Diego to Valencia after accepting a sincere invitation from the Chaldean faithful who live in Los Angeles County to celebrate the Chaldean Mass in the old traditional and approved form.
This is what one of the Faithful wrote to Father Noel after attending the Mass:
Dear Father Noel,
We support you in keeping the Traditional Chaldean Mass celebration alive for us, and it was a pleasure seeing you here in Valencia.
Thank you dear Father Noel for accepting our invite and coming to us and celebrate the mass in our traditional Chaldean way and how we all grew up with.
And not to mention, even from whomever that is giving the new directions for these shocking and epic changes, yes, even those grew up with the old traditional mass.
We all missed that old version of mass, since the recent changes that unfortunately has happened in our Chaldean Church, which are rapid, and without any understandable reason.
If we are factoring the “Baban Beshmayya”, “Our Father, who art in …”, from the end of the mass, God knows what would be next to see disappear from our Holy Mass. Maybe pretty soon, no mass will be the way to go, and God Bless us raising our kids in another country, at the same way that we wish that our kids to grow with Traditional Chaldean way.
Azizi, Rabi Ghasha, Havet Basima iselokh geban (Azizi, Rabi, Thank you for coming and celebrating with us.)
Please come often to celebrate the mass for us as we support you in keeping the traditional Chaldean Mass celebration alive for us, for our kids, and for generations to come.
God Bless you.
