On a very nice and sunny Friday evening, on August 19, 2016, nearly 3000 Chaldeans among the 28000 fans attended Petco Park Stadium in San Diego, California, to watch the San Diego Padres play Baseball against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the game was broadcasted live on Television.
Our own Father Noel Gorgis, a Chaldean priest who has been in the United States for 25 years, and a very patriotic Chaldean – American figure among the Chaldean community in San Diego, has proudly accepted the honor to be chosen to throw out the first pitch of the game. Fr. Noel continues to follow his agenda, as a priest, and as an American citizen to keep the covenant that he took by holding up the Chaldean name everywhere, along with the Chaldean Flag, not only locally, but nationwide & globally, especially here in America, this beautiful country of ours, where we can preserve the inheritance of our authentic Chaldean identity &culture.
The Chaldean Night with the Padres was tremendously honored with the presence of His Excellency Bishop Sarhad Yawsip Jammo, who is a true Chaldean Lion and a proud & faithful citizen who continuously offers his support civilly & spiritually. His attendance to such events marks a significant appreciation to the America as a country and as a people who comes together as one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Our own Lanza Attisha, a Chaldean-American young woman was also much honored to sing the Star-Spangled Banner so beautifully with joy and enthusiasm.
